Possible traces of early members of the genus Homo in Croatia
The oldest traces of possible activity of members of the genus Homo in the territory of today's Croatia also date to the Pleistocene period. Although no skeletal remains of the populations that lived in our area were found, remains of stone tools that can typologically be classified in the earlier periods of the Pleistocene were found at three sites in present-day Croatia - Šandalja I, Punikve and Donje Pazarište, however, the more precise dating is unknown.
