III. Class of Minerals
SULFOSALTS
Sulfosalts are a diverse and relatively large group of minerals with a complex anion, which was recently associated with sulfides, but it differs in that in the sulfide structure containing a metalloid, the metalloid replaces the position of sulfur, while in the structure of sulfosalts, the metalloid replaces the position of the metal and bonds with sulfur. The older Croatian term for sulfosalts is "sinjavci" (blue minerals) due to their characteristic blue (lead-gray) color, which corresponds to the old mining classification of sulfide minerals based on their luster.
